How big will the maps be?

When you start a game how big will be the map you are given?

From the interview ( HistoriaGames - Actualité - Interview avec les développeurs d'Ancient Cities ):

"Maps range from 1 to several Km² but we still don’t know how big they will be in the final game because we still need to implement lots of optimizations.

It will be enough to hold a medium city with surrounding farming areas though."

So in line with what is well-established in the genre since many years.
